Early lead gives the Pacific Indians Varsity victory over Owensville (MO), 13-2
The Pacific Indians Varsity jumped out to an early lead on Owensville and captured a 13-2 victory on Thursday at Pacific.
With nine runs in the first three innings, the Pacific Indians Varsity left no doubt about the eventual outcome.
An RBI double by Hunter Finney, an RBI single by Noah Brocato, an RBI single by Lucas Vandaveer, an RBI single by Justen Ehlts, and a two-run single by Dylan Hurt in the first inning fueled the Pacific Indians Varsity’s offense early.
Ehlts racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Pacific Indians Varsity.
Lucas Zurliene’s eight strikeouts helped the Pacific Indians Varsity to the victory. Lucas Zurliene allowed two earned runs on three hits and two walks over five innings.
Hale was charged with the loss. He allowed 13 runs in four innings, walked four and struck out four.
The Pacific Indians Varsity built upon their lead with three runs in the third. A passed ball scored Lucas Vandaveer to get the Pacific Indians Varsity on the board in the inning. That was followed up by Hurt’s single, plating Ehlts.
It didn’t take long for the Pacific Indians Varsity to answer as they scored four runs of their own in the fourth. The Pacific Indians Varsity scored on a two-run double by Ehlts, an RBI single by Lane Smith, and an RBI double by Finney.
