Early lead gives the Pacific Indians Varsity victory over St. Clair (MO), 12-1
The Pacific Indians Varsity jumped out to an early lead on St. Clair and captured a 12-1 victory on Thursday at St. Clair.
The game was decided quickly as the Pacific Indians Varsity exerted their will early with five runs in the first three innings.
A two-run home run by Lucas Vandaveer, an RBI single by Hunter Finney, , and an RBI single by Noah Brocato in the second inning fueled the Pacific Indians Varsity’s offense early.
Austin Muich racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Pacific Indians Varsity. He singled in the third inning and homered in the fifth inning.
Lucas Zurliene racked up eight strikeouts in the the Pacific Indians Varsity win. Lucas Zurliene allowed one earned run on three hits and no walks over five innings.
Thompson was the game’s losing pitcher. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed no runs.
The Pacific Indians Varsity increased their lead with five runs in the fifth. Brocato started the inning with a double, scoring Justen Ehlts. That was followed up by Muich’s blast, scoring Brocato, Jake Meininger and Finney.
